Have you picked up your brochure yet?

We’ve been out and about distributing brochures all around town and beyond – look out for them and grab a copy fast, they’re going like hot cakes. If you don’t manage to get one, you can download a copy from the blog line-up page.

This year’s main stage acts include psycho-ceilidh-rockers Neck, Martin Turner’s Wishbone Ash, the Jon Amor Blues Group, New Amen Corner, indie hot-shots The Words from Manchester, top tribute acts The Secret Police and Hell’s Bells and local favourites including Between the Lines, The Good Times, The Ronaldos, The Bandits and The Mighty Pledge. Festival Fringe acts include hotly-touted rising stars such as Sam Eden, some of the most respected roots and blues artists in the UK including Sons of the Delta, and some very special classical concerts, one featuring the Mavron String Quartet performing a new piece of music commissioned for the Festival.

Did you know?

Donations in the bucket each night of the Festival are a massively important part of its income: without them, and without the support of local businesses through advertising and food trade stalls, the Festival simply wouldn’t survive.

The Festival has no regular statutory funding from the local authority – it isn’t ‘funded by the council’ as many community festivals are, although we’re grateful each year for support from the town council.

So this year, as always, we really want to encourage everyone to think about the value for money you’re getting (a similar night’s entertainment on the main stage could easily cost £15) and give as generously as you can – so we can put on an even bigger and better festival next year. And now you can even donate online via Paypal – see the button top right.
